The North West's Leading
Electronic Music Conference
Josh Samuel is an up and coming artist based out of Liverpool. His love of music stems from as early as 5 years old when he began to play the piano. His first taste of dance music came in his teens, following in the footsteps of his older brother - who was also a DJ.
Since then, Josh has gone on to make impressive strides in the ever-evolving world of electronic music. After venturing into the Liverpool club scene at 17, he now holds 4 residencies spread out across some of the city’s most popular haunts. Outside of clubland, Josh has also seen himself propelled onto a larger stage, having supported the likes of Joris Voorn, Pete Tong, Peggy Gou, Bicep and more at Creamfields and also featuring on the lineup at Sankeys Festival.
His sound can be described as similar to that of labels like Saved Records, Sola and Solotoko. You could call it hard hitting tech house with inspiration from the evolution of house music, citing inspiration from the likes of Hot Since 82 and Mark Knight among others.
Josh’s involvement in the dance music industry isn’t strictly limited to the DJ booth, either. He is also heavily gifted in the studio and has built a reputation for some creatively masterful edits and reboots - which have seen some heavy support from the likes of Michael Bibi, ALISHA, MANT and others. One of which has recently featured on Diplo & Friends Radio 1 show.
As Josh now turns his focus to remixes and original cuts, he also finds himself with upcoming releases on some highly commendable imprints. Not to mention the comfortable pile of unreleased music he has ready to roll out in the not too distant future.
With all of the above in mind, it’s easy to see why Josh’s exposure is on a steady gradient. Not only in the north-west of England but also further afield. Josh’s tenacity and desire to scale new heights finds him becoming a name more frequently appearing in conversation, especially those that revolve around breaking names in the scene and those showing blossoming promise. For that very reason, Josh Samuel is an artist you should expect to become more and more familiar with in the not too distant future.
